A clinical study of Sagacin^(®) (KW-1062) used prophylactically and therapeutically in various diseases of general surgery

Abstract
|
|
|
Clinical study of Sagacity was performed for prophylactic and for therapeutic use in various dis:ases of general surgery in C N.U.ii. When used alone or in combination, with other antibiotics, the folio ´ g results were ´obtained.
1) Of 21 prophylactic cases in which Sagacin was used with: another antibiotics, 11 cases recovered s om surgery without any postoperative surgical infection, the efficacy of the sagacin was 100% in the prophylactic use.
2) Of another 10 prophylactic cases in which sagacin only was used, there was no postoperative surigical infection.
3) Of 9 cases used therapeutically, 8 cases revealed excellant.
4) Hepatotoxicity, nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity were not developed in this study and can be administ -red intramuscularly for two week or more without any complication.
